Propelled by new waves of violence in Ukraine and long-standing conflict in Afghanistan, Syria and elsewhere, the number of forcibly displaced people has risen to more than 122.6 million for the first time in history. This represents 1.5% of the world’s population and is equivalent to the 12th most populated country.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is responding by rushing lifesaving essentials including shelter, water, food, safety and protection to refugees in need.
We believe refugees deserve to not only survive, but recover and build a better future for themselves.
