How our Car Donation Program works 

Step 1: Provide Vehicle Information

Fill out the donation form online or by calling (877) 957-2277 and provide basic vehicle information like VIN, year, make, model and condition. 

Step 2: Schedule Free Car Pickup

Provide information about where the vehicle will be picked up. A local towing agent will contact you within 2-3 business days to schedule a convenient pickup time. 

Step 3: Track Your Donation & Get Receipt

After you submit your car donation, you’ll receive a confirmation email with access to your Donor Console, where you’ll be able to track the progress of your car donation, upload documents, and receive tax and title information. Once your car is sold, you will receive a confirmation email with a tax receipt.

FAQs

What vehicles can be donated?

We accept almost all running and non-running cars. We ask that your car have at least two inflated tires and be in a tow accessible location, such as a driveway or on the street. Trucks, motorcycles, boats, planes, snowmobiles, heavy machinery, trailers and RVs are accepted on a case-by-case basis. What paperwork is needed to donate my car?

You’ll need to have a clear title to complete your car donation. If you can’t find your title, you’ll have to apply for a duplicate title through your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles. Instructions on how to sign your title over to our vehicle processing agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, can be found here or you can call our processing center at (877) 957-2277 and a customer service representative can walk you through the process. 

How much money will USA for UNHCR receive from my car donation?

Our authorized agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, returns on average 80 percent of the gross proceeds from the sale of your car donation, the highest of any vehicle donation program.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you'll be emailed a tax receipt for your car donation. If your car sold for over $500, you can claim the full selling price when you itemize taxes. If it sold for less than $500, you can claim the fair market value up to $499. Please consult your tax advisor on the best way to claim your car donation tax deduction.

Who is Advanced Remarketing Services, Inc?

They handle the title transfer, towing and reporting of all vehicle donations, and are USA for UNHCR’s authorized national agent processing all of our vehicle donations. Vehicle donations may be made online through the donation page or by calling (877) 957-2277.
