Airbnb Launches Donation Match on #GivingTuesday

This Giving Tuesday, join Airbnb Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Joe Gebbia (@jgebbia) and USA for UNHCR’s Executive Director Anne-Marie Grey (@UNRefugeeAgency) for a live Twitter Chat beginning at noon to launch Airbnb’s new donation match campaign to support refugees.

Airbnb will match donations to USA for UNHCR dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million through December 31 to bring attention and financial support for refugees around the world.

Funds raised will enable USA for UNHCR to increase support for the basic needs and rights for refugees – like shelter, water, food, safety and protection from harm – and support UNCHR staff on the ground around the world including Europe and Africa.

“Airbnb’s match campaign is a great example of how the private sector can play a leadership role in tackling the global refugee crisis,” said USA for UNHCR Executive Director Anne-Marie Grey. “We’re so grateful for Airbnb’s support and their support for the people who are fleeing war and violence worldwide.”
