Washington, DC (March 5, 2025) – USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is pleased to announce the membership of its 2025 Hive Advisory Board (HAB). The board is comprised of a broad range of subject-matter experts on issues of forcibly displaced persons, as well as technology and data experts in business, government, higher education, philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. Members of the HAB share a commitment to the goals and objectives of the USA for UNHCR.
The Hive Advisory Board works with The Hive, USA for UNHCR’s innovation lab, to advance USA for UNHCR’s vision and mission. The Hive helps support USA for UNHCR in mobilizing resources by driving engagement with the American public to raise awareness and design solutions that address the needs of refugees through technology and data science innovations.
“Each member of the Hive Advisory Board brings unique expertise to support The Hive, USA for UNHCR and refugees around the world who need our protection more than ever,” says Seema D. Iyer, PhD, Senior Director of The Hive. “HAB membership is engaging for everyone involved, and we are grateful and honored to be working with this exceptional group of leaders.”
The group will be led by a new chair, Margaret Hung, a data and analytics executive who has served on the HAB since 2023. "Data science and technology, when applied responsibly and strategically, have the power to accelerate and scale life-changing solutions for refugees and forcibly displaced communities worldwide,” says Margaret. “As Board members, we are committed to deepening collaboration and fostering innovation across The Hive’s expanding community of tech and data partners.”
