This holiday season, as you celebrate with family and friends and appreciate the gifts in your life, think about what you can do for refugee families all over the world who are contending with falling temperatures and worsening conditions. There are so many ways to help this holiday season -- just a few are below.
Did you know that USA for UNHCR is a charity partner of AmazonSmile? They make it easy for people to support refugees during the holiday season and throughout the year. While shopping with AmazonSmile, select the US Association for UNHCR and for each purchase, AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to USA for UNHCR to help support and protect refugees. Remember to tell your friends and families as we approach Black Friday and Cyber Monday!
IKEA Brighter Lives for Refugees
The Brighter Lives for Refugees campaign is back! For every LED product sold in IKEA stores and online from November 29 – December 19, the IKEA Foundation will donate $1 to help UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, provide light and energy from renewable sources to refugee camps – making them a safer, more suitable place for the many families who live there. Funds raised by the campaign will help to provide solar street lights, solar powered lanterns, and solar energy systems that will support energy self-reliance among refugees and host communities in UNHCR refugee camps in parts of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. In addition, the campaign will also fund improved access to primary education.
